
February was a month of experimenting and rolling out new features and advancements which are planned for 2019. From Google launching its voice input to Instagram introducing IGTV promotions, here are 10 new things in Digital Marketing for the month of February.
1. Google adds new voice input feature

Google continuously works on new advancements and features and one such new feature is introducing voice search option for Android and iOS devices. The users can ask any question and they’ll hear responses along with search result pages.
Google has added a microphone button in its search bar which lets you ask questions and get spoken responses.
2. Product Card Buttons Pop up on desktop Google Search

Now whenever you search for a product, there is a product pop up display at the right side of the results page.
This new shopping product panel has “details”, “reviews” and “stores” options. These buttons will trigger an overlay when you click on any of them, showing additional results.
3. Google Will Let You Create Better Responsive Display Ads with the new Ad Strength Scorecard

Advertisers and marketers can now make sure that their ads are ‘set up for success’ before they go live with them.
The ad strength scorecard will check the right number of unique headlines, descriptions, and images which are used. If you want to improve your score-strength, you can take the ‘next steps’ highlighted in the scorecard.
1. You can now edit your tweets after posting them

Editable tweets, that’s what people call this new feature on the micro-blogging site.
Twitter is coming up with a feature where you can edit your tweet within 30 seconds of posting it.
2. Twitter’s Search Icon Changed From Magnifying Glass To A Hash Symbol

Twitter is changing the search icon from a magnifying glass to a hash symbol.
1. Fingerprint authentication feature for Android

Facebook owned WhatsApp is working on an update to add fingerprint authentication for an upgraded security level.
This new feature will be in the next version of WhatsApp- Android 2.19.3, where all android users can authenticate fingerprint security.
1. Quiz stickers on Instagram Stories

After Instagram launching its ‘Questions stickers on Stories’, they’re all set to roll out ‘Quiz stickers on Stories’.
Basically, Quiz Stickers are an interactive feature that enables users to post a question to their viewers and add in multiple answer options for them to choose from.
2. Introducing IGTV promotions in main feed

Encouraging more IGTV usage, Instagram comes up with a feature where it redirects you to IGTV after letting the users watch the first 1-minute of the video.
A pop up is highlighted which then takes you to IGTV where you can watch the rest of the video.
3. Create public album on Instagram

You can now make your ‘Collections’ public. Instagram is working on a new update where you can showcase your collections album to your audience.
This way you can collate all your favorite Instagram posts and create an album to share with your audiences.
1. Unsend your messages on Facebook Messenger

Just like WhatsApp, Facebook also introduces ‘unsend message’ feature.
It lets you unsend a message within 10 mins of sending it. Just tap on the message and select ‘Remove for everyone’ option.
1. Launches its own version of live streaming- LinkedIn Live

LinkedIn Live will offer both individuals and organizations the chance to broadcast live to the world. LinkedIn is eyeing up tech conferences, product announcements, and earnings calls as the kind of content suitable for LinkedIn Live.
