By Axios Digital EditorDETROIT (AP) A new logo for Uber, the ride-hailing company, that debuted on Monday is a clever nod to the iconic company’s “black and white” branding.
The logo uses a combination of a circle and a diamond shape, as well as a heart that is also present in the logo.
Uber says it was inspired by the classic movie “The Big Lebowski” that was based on the same theme.
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick is a native of Detroit and was raised in the area.
Kalanicks father, Peter Kalanicky, ran the Detroit-based Uber when it was founded in 2009.
The company said it has over 50,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada.
